How Signal Stack uses race shape
Race shape is one of the clearest ways to turn handicapping data into a usable decision. Signal Stack looks at how the race may be run before it decides whether to trust, split, lean outside, or pass.
Shape starts with pressure
A lone-speed race is different from a pace-pressure race. A race with several forward horses is different from one where the early horse may control the middle stages. Signal Stack uses those differences to inform the posture.
Early, press, and late are not enough by themselves
A horse's style matters, but style alone is not the pick. The question is whether today's surface, distance, track profile, field shape, and current evidence make that style useful.
Closers need the right race
A closer can be interesting when the race sets up for collapse, when the track/distance pattern supports that move, or when the price makes the horse useful for contest coverage. Without that support, a deep closer can be a trap.
Shape affects Primary and Backup
Sometimes race shape confirms the Primary. Sometimes it makes the Backup more important. Sometimes it warns that the race is too thin or chaotic to trust. That is why shape feeds the posture instead of becoming a standalone secret formula.
